Hey all, just wanted to share my thoughts on the JCB 8008 CTS. Used it last week for a renovation project. It’s great for confined areas, and the tubular boom design keeps things lightweight, making it versatile to operate. Fuel efficiency? A full day with one fill-up is awesome! However, transitioning for beginners might need a bit of patience despite its user-friendly layout. Still, highly suitable for professional work and even DIY enthusiasts.

I've been running micro excavators for years and had the JCB 8008 CTS on a few tight garden and refurbishment jobs. It really is small and easy to trailer (875kg) so getting between sites is no hassle. The 9kW engine with class-leading reach and dig depth means I could do more in one pass than with other machines this size. Extending undercarriage (700-865mm) gives good stability next to walls, and the tubular boom keeps weight down. Daily checks are quick, and the 11.5L tank actually lasted me a full day on light work. Hoses routed through the boom are a real plus for avoiding snags. Minor gripe: TOPS/folding frame are optional, I'd prefer that fitted as standard. Overall I found it easy to set up and comfortable (good leg room) - works well for single-operator jobs.

I rented the mini excavator 8008 with 3 different capacity buckets. The tracks on the machine were recently replaced, so there are no problems with traction on the ground. We used the mini excavator for cleaning a pond on the territory of a resort complex. The machine handled its tasks perfectly. One can confidently rent this mini excavator for work on private property or in agriculture.

So, I recently operated the JCB 8008 CTS micro excavator for a few backyard excavation tasks. Gotta say, it handles tight spaces amazingly well. This little machine impressed me with its dig depth and reach, definite highlights. Serviceability is a bonus; daily checks are straightforward. However, I felt the enclosed legroom could be better for taller individuals. Otherwise, it’s a solid piece of equipment for small-scale jobs.

Operating the electric version, the reduced noise and vibration levels stood out, enhancing comfort over longer tasks. However, while the operational duration met most requirements, dependency on charging infrastructure could be a minor limitation in remote jobsites.
